6 things you can do with your old smartphone

1. E-Book
If you have an old tablet or used phablet, one of the many things you can do is to turn it into an E-Book or a reading tablet.
Several apps which offer interesting reading materials include Google Play Books, Flipboard and Zinio.
2. Modem Hotspot
Do you have an additional SIM with data subscription? Then use your device as a portable modem in order to share internet access along with other devices.

3. CCTV
Android smartphones today are equipped with useful camera functions. Convert your used Android device into cloud-based CCTV system.
To do this, use easy-to-handle application such as IP Webcam. When you’re done fixing it to your device, activate the webcam to see the results using a web browser on your computer.

4. GPS
There are several map applications in Android which can be downloaded and used offline. This is wonderful as you can use your old Android smartphone as a GPS while driving. You don’t have to worry about the battery life either as the in-car charger is always there for you to use.

5. Sell
What’s a better way to make extra pocket money than selling off the things you no longer need? But the tip is not to sell it at a high price.
For locals, popular site such as Mudah.com.my is a place for you to advertise and sell used items. There are also Facebook pages like ‘Handphone Lelong’ and many others. We are certain there will be buyers but a little warning though: Don’t cheat and don’t get cheated.

6. Table Clock
Not sure what to do with your old phone? Place it on a stand and put it on your table then let the interface display the time. There, you’ve got yourself a table clock!
