Barcelona really need three points - Valdes

The 32-year-old will play in his final Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu and wants to bid farewell to the stadium with a win that would shake-up the Liga title race

The game will mark the goalkeeper's final Clasico appearance at the Santiago Bernabeu before he leaves Camp Nou when his contract expires in the summer.

Barca go into the game four points adrift of leaders Madrid having won the first league meeting between the sides 2-1 earlier this season, with Valdes well aware of just how decisive the game could prove to be.

"This Clasico is going to be my last game in Bernabeu as a Barcelona player," the 32-year-old told reporters.

"I have a high respect for that stadium. It is an amazing place to play in because the fans give a lot of support to Real Madrid - especially in the Clasicos - and that makes playing there very special, even if you are on the other side.

"I would like to be able to say in a few days that we won because we really need those three points if we want to dispute the title against Real Madrid."

Andres Iniesta spoke earlier this week of Barcelona's need to attack Madrid and Valdes was quick to echo the sentiments of his team-mate.

"We approach the Clasico with hope and a winning mentality, as always," he added. "That is the only way you can win in (the) Bernabeu.

"We have to go there and take the control of the game, play directly, keep the possession of the ball and play offensively."
